Another holiday new for 2026, this is an exciting week spent exploring the remote border country of the Black Mountains.

Holiday Highlights 

First Evening:

Settle into our cosy farmhouse with a drink by the fire, and meet your fellow riders.

Enjoy a relaxed dinner, explore the grounds, or unwind by the fire.

Sunday & Monday:

Morning grooming and tacking-up sessions to bond with your horse.

Stunning trails through ancient green lanes, woods, commons, and mountain paths at a variety of paces.

Midday breaks at local pubs or cafes for lunch.

Tea & cake back at the farmhouse after we’ve untacked, groomed and fed the horses.

Home-cooked dinners, followed by relaxed evenings around the fire, or perhaps a stroll to the local pub.

Tuesday – Thursday:

Set off on a 3 day adventure further afield

Exploring the Black Mountains area of the National Park.

Longer days, faster riding

Staying en-route at comfortable inns and guest-houses, while your luggage is transported ahead

Arrive back at Blaenau for well-deserved tea & cake

Celebrate the week with a final dinner with your fellow riders

The first three nights are spent here with us in our beautiful 16th century Welsh traditional longhouse ‘Blaenau Bach’.

Guests stay in comfortable twin rooms, all with en-suite shower rooms.

Home-cooked feasts, log fires and stunning sunsets combine to make this a magical place to stay.

Then you set off on your ‘away’ part of the holiday – staying en-route in small inns and B&Bs along the way. Your luggage is transported ahead, and horses stay at a nearby farm.

It’s home to Blaenau for a final night and a celebration of what is sure to be a wonderful holiday!

Experience the breathtaking beauty of Mid Wales on this 5‑day, 6‑night trail adventure. Ride confidently over varied terrain for 3–5 hours a day, enjoying the freedom of open countryside, rolling hills and scenic valleys. Accommodation, luggage transfers, and all meals are included, while small group sizes mean personal attention from expert guides. The further reaches of the trail are remote, with changeable weather likely, and riders should be fit and confident at all paces.
